about

This was recorded without instruments, using the 'no input mixer' technique.

The title is taken from a mistranslated post on social media.

Partly inspired by the French sound artist Eliane Radigue's late 1960s feedback and drone works.

In parts, my focus was on introducing two electronic sounds, playing separate notes that are very close to being in tune, but that vary slightly in pitch. As the frequencies get closer and farther apart, an audible 'beating' occurs. This phenomenon is sometimes used in a practical context to tune a plucked harmonic on one guitar string to another. The beating gets faster as a unity of frequency occurs and slower as the notes drift away from each other, either below or above the desired pitch.
